Tour 5 – Kangeq
On this tour we take you to the old abandoned settlement of Kangeq.
The settlement was built in the middle of an old Inuit migration route, and in 1854 it became an official trading station supporting the Danish Colony in Greenland.
Kangeq was populated until the 1960s when it was decided to close the settlement and move the remaining villagers to Nuuk. Today Kangeq is a ”ghost town” but well worth a visit.
Duration: approx. 3 hours (1.5 hour sailing – 1.5 hours on land)
Min. 3 persons – max. 13 persons
Boats: Poca 600 (8 pax.) and Poca 550 (5 pax.)
