Kangeq with “IVIK”
Take a boat trip to the abandoned settlement of Kangeq.
For many years, Kangeq was in the middle of an Inuit migration route - it was a good hunting ground and was used long before the Royal Greenlandic Trading Company (KGH) made it an official trading station and thus a port of call for supplies to the Danish colony in Greenland. Kangeq settlement was an official trading post from the 1850s, but was closed in the late 1960s when the residents were relocated to Nuuk. Today it appears as a ghost town.
Please note that the visit to the settlement is on your own.
The boat is a 40-foot closed boat, with a large deck on top where you can stay during the boat trip.
